Manor Wildlife Park is home to a two lowland tapirs, Tommy and Rio. Tapirs are the largest land mammal found in the Amazon, weighing as much as 250kgs (big right?!)! Their large size means they also have a pretty big appetite, and that’s where you can help. During these unprecedented times, we’re asking for your donations to help pick up the food tab for one day for one of our tapirs. 

On a normal day, one of our tapirs will eat the following: 

• 3kgs Mixed fresh fruit and vegetables

• 2kgs Specialised animal feed

• Seasonal ‘browse’ including willow, maple and buddleia

• Ad-lib hay
